 As a new Organization, SOWIPA had benefited from partnering with other already established and credible organizations. Key among our partners and sponsors are: the Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE) Western Ankole Civil Society Forum (WACSOF) Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF) Human Rights Network Uganda (HURINET- U) CARITAS Uganda, National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO), Africa Freedom for Information Center (AFIC) Environmental Alert (EA) and Overseas Development Institute (ODI).

SOWIPA has also been in close contact and working together with most Local Governments in Uganda.

About Us

South western institute for policy and advocacy - SOWIPA is a non-profit policy research and Advocacy organization registered in Uganda as a Non- Governmental Organization (NGO). SOWIPA was established in 2007 and completed registration in 2008. Operating in 10 districts of South Western Uganda, SOWIPA is the only local NGO that combines evidence based research with policy advocacy and policy monitoring to address issues of poverty, economic growth and good governance. Our theory of change is that if strong professional and evidence – based non-profit organizations are established and based in Uganda’s rural areas, this will build a powerful constituency able to demand for pro-people policy change and better governance.
